Early Pokemon 3D Models (continued)
The next games in the series, and the last sprite based ones, to be released were Pokemon Black and White,
which released at the same time, and had minor differences, as is standard for the series.
A year later, sequels to these games were released, being Pokemon Black 2 and White 2.
These four games used much more 3D elements than the previous three games.
3D was used for nearly all the environments, with 2D still being used for characters.
There were several areas besides the title screen in these games, however, that used 3D for pokemon models.
The primary example of this would be an area in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 called the Marine Tube.
This area is an underwater bridge, sort of like something you would see in an aquarium, with pokemon that swim around it in the background.
All 3D pokemon models from these games are shown below.
These are models of the pokemon Reshiram and Zekrom
They are the mascots of Pokemon Black and White respectively, and appear on the boxes and title screens.
These are models of the White Kyurem and Black Kyurem.
They are the mascots of Pokemon Black2 and White2 respectively, and appear on the boxes and title screens.
They are fusions of the previous games' mascots and another pokemon named Kyurem.
This pokemon is Kyurem.
The model isn't used on any title screens, but is used in cutscenes in the games.
It is important to the plot of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2.
This pokemon is Alomamola.
It appears in the Marine Tube area.
This pokemon is Basculin.
It has 2 forms, with each being exclusive to one version of the game or the other.
This pokemon is Frillish.
It has 2 forms, with one being a male form and the other being a female form.
This pokemon is Mantine.
It appears in the Marine Tube area.
This pokemon is Wailord.
It appears in the Marine Tube area.
